Studio Tips

Our studio is located in Selby town centre opposite the beautiful Selby Abbey, and only a few yards from the train and bus stations. Our studio is designed to capture the best of any style of shoot your desire. We have various backgrounds and props, but we recommend you bring any items you would like to use in your photo shoot to personalise it to your liking. Also, we have a professional makeup artist available for makeover photo shoots.

If you come to take part in a photo shoot as a family or group, we would advise you to make sure that you’re all colour-coordinated with each other. A person in a bright clothes will stand out from the others if they’re wearing pastel shades and vice versa.

We have some props for children and babies, such as toys, blankets and baskets, but feel free to bring your own props too if you wish. It’s always nice to incorporate a little personal touch in some of the images, maybe a teddy bear or a hat that a close family member gave to your little one.

If you would like your newborn pictured asleep, and so they can be positioned in such a way that we can record all the little details, we would recommend you book time slot when they usually have a nap or consider a double slot. That way, your session will never feel rushed or unfinished.

Finally, don’t worry if you don’t like having your picture taken – many people don’t. Just try to relax and have some fun. The session will be over before you know it. A couple of days later, the images will be available to view in a private password-protected online gallery, where you will be able view the images and place an order.
